2008 Workshop on the Neuroendocrinology of Stress

General Information

The 2008 Workshop on Stress, sponsored by the American Neuroendocrine Society, will take place June 12-14, 2008 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Rafael, CA. The Workshop will focus on recent advances in knowledge about the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and the effects of stress on the body and brain.

The scientific program consists of 5 symposia of invited speakers, a keynote address by Dr. Bruce McEwen and an open poster session with abstracts submitted for presentation by any attendees of the Workshop.

Location: The Workshop will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel San Rafael – Marin County, 101 McGinnis Parkway, San Rafael, CA 94903. The hotel is 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. The general phone number for the hotel is 415-499-9222.

Housing: Rooms have been reserved at the Hotel for the Workshop. To obtain a room, please contact the hotel directly at 415-499-9222. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis at a reduced rate of $159.00 per night for single and double rooms.

Transportation: Shuttle service is available from San Francisco International Airport via either the Western Eagle Shuttle (415-533-4466 for reservations) or the Marin Airporter (415-461-4222 for information and reservations).

Registration: Registration will be held in the foyer of the ballroom each day from 8 AM until 5 PM.

Scientific Sessions: The sessions will be held in the Hotel’s Ballroom from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM each day. The poster session will take place on the evening of June 12^th from 5 to 8 PM and will be accompanied by a wine and cheese reception.

Meals: Your registration fee includes a continental breakfast each morning of the workshop and lunches on June 12^th and 13^th. Coffee breaks will be provided during the meeting with accompanying snacks.
